Services of Worship
We hold three Services of Worship on a Sunday, and one on a Wednesday each week. There are additional services at certain times of the year depending on the church calendar.
Children and youth are welcome at all of our services. There are special programmes for children and youth that run alongside the 10:00 a.m. service each Sunday.
Each month we hold a shared lunch and a shared breakfast on the 2nd and 3rd Sundays of the month, respectively.
For details about specific upcoming services, see the Home Page.
A service of Holy Communion with a small, friendly congregation. This is a quiet service with a sermon but no hymns. On the first, fourth and fifth Sundays of the month we worship using the Book of Common Prayer (1662 Service). On second and third Sundays we use A New Zealand Prayer Book.
Approximate duration: 40 minutes.
A fuller service with hymns, often a sung liturgy, and on most Sundays a choir. We worship using A New Zealand Prayer Book on most Sundays. On the Third Sunday of each month we hold an All Age Eucharist which uses a variety of liturgical resources. Each Sunday we gather together for morning tea after the 10am service.
Approximate duration: 75 minutes.
Through most of the year we hold an informal Evening Worship or Bible Study in the lounge. At present we are studying ‘The Lord’s Prayer’ together. On the Third Sunday of each month the 7pm service is Choral Evensong, led by our choir.
Approximate duration: 60 minutes.
There is no 7:00 p.m. service on holiday weekends, or over the summer holiday period.
The Wednesday service of Holy Communion uses The Book of Common Prayer. This is a short service held in the Parish Lounge and followed by morning tea.
Approximate duration: 30 minutes.
